About Me
Hi, I’m Laksh. I’m an iOS engineer at Typo*, where we are creating a messaging app for content creators. Before Typo*, I built Perspectives, a task management app for iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS, that was featured by Apple’s App Store Editorial team.
Working in iOS development, I’ve had the pleasure of tackling many difficult problems: whether it be creating iMessage-style swipe-to-reply in Typo*, or building a good way to create window panes in visionOS, or building Metal shaders for delightful visual interactions. I’m a problem solver at heart, and difficult problems are my fuel. There is nothing more satisfying than putting together pieces from disparate fields to solve these problems—and then polishing them until they shine. I believe attention to detail always comes through to users, and great software comes from sweating the details while keeping the big picture in mind.
Computer graphics is where this really comes alive for me. I’m particularly interested in how graphics techniques can elevate app development—taking interactions from functional to delightful. I spoke about this at Deep Dish Swift 2025, in a talk titled “Shaders: The Secret Sauce of Modern Visual Interactions”. You can watch it here.
My love for graphics originated in a class I took at NYU with Ken Perlin, from where I graduated in 2024 with a degree in Computer Science. While at NYU, I also tutored over 700 students in fundamental computer science classes, and led workshops on debugging and problem-solving.
